Advanced Hands-on Activity Training

We have recently added an Advanced Training to our schedule that focuses on the two different hands-on group experiential activities for each Why Try visual metaphor. This training will cover materials needed, safety rules, set-up, the activity, and processing the activity back to the visual metaphor. The hands-on learning activities are particularly helpful in group environments for increasing participation and learning among those involved. If you have been to our certification training and have been teaching the WhyTry Program, and are looking for more ideas and instruction to enhance your skills, then this training is for you.

WhyTry Advanced Techniques Training

This is a 4 Day course focusing on the techniques and strategies that will take you from being good at reaching students to being great at reaching even the most difficult students.

Experience the WhyTry Metaphors in greater depth and take away a host of complimenting activities that support the WhyTry Curriculum. This course places emphasis on active learning strategies and methods that promote personal learning through experience. It will highlight environmental, cognitive, and emotional factors that have a direct effect on learning and engage reluctant learners into a positively responsive climate.

These seldom-discussed strategies are often the biggest secrets that empower students. Educational experts advocate emphasis on movement within the total learning experience. This course utilizes a unique, multi-sensory approach to instruction of the WhyTry Curriculum. Key components include high levels of humor, music, and student interaction. Participants can expect to be physically engaged and mentally challenged throughout this highpowered course.

Staff Development/On-site Training

WhyTry Training makes an excellent staff development program. It is motivational and electrifying, even for staff who won’t use the WhyTry Program on a daily basis. Most staff development programs are one-day or half-day in duration. These programs can be adapted to meet your needs, but generally include a discussion of the origins and principles of the WhyTry Program, an overview of the Visual Analogies, and an introduction to the Motivation Formula.

If you have other needs for WhyTry Training at your facility, WhyTry can provide a qualified trainer to meet your requirements. We will work with you to develop a program that makes the WhyTry program most effective in your institutional setting.

Scheduling: On-site training generally needs to be scheduled three months in advance, but check our calendar for available dates. To schedule a training event, contact J. Allen.

Pricing: $3,000 per day, plus travel expenses
