Level 2 Training Opportunity: Stockton, CA

The WhyTry Level 2 training builds on the principles you've applied from Level 1. This training gives strong focus to successful implementation of WhyTry's learning activities, which are particularly helpful in group environments for increasing participation and creating a learning atmosphere. In addition, this training shows you how to effectively use multimedia as a teaching tool in your classroom or setting. You'll learn more about state changes, classroom management, and how to create buy-in. This training is useful for anyone using WhyTry, regardless of their experience level. The following is a summary of what you’ll gain from a Level 2:

  • Warm-ups with a Purpose: Warm-ups are an important way for you to get to know your students and create a learning environment. We’ll walk through a few of our favorites with you.

  • Classroom Management: Creating expectations from day 1 helps create structure in the classroom while helping students feel comfortable when they walk through your door. We’ll provide you with some methods for good classroom management.

  • How to Lead and Facilitate an Activity: You have the activity instructions, but we’ll show you how to approach the learning activities in a way that gets students excited to participate.

  • Learning Activities: We’ll demonstrate 1-2 learning activities per lesson, along with a brief review of how to walk through each of the ten visual analogies.

  • Framing a Lesson and Creating Buy-in: Learn how to help your students look forward to the WhyTry lessons and even feel a desire to apply them in their own lives.

  • Processing Activities, Music, and Videos: We’ll dive deeper into good processing that helps students have a learning experience each time you do an activity, play a song, or show a video clip.

  • Using Music: We’ll go over the importance of music in the classroom, and get technical with some instructions on creating playlists and converting files.

  • Planning your Lesson: We’ll go over WhyTry’s “flexible lesson plan,” and discuss how to adjust your lesson to fit the needs of your specific group.

    • Continuing Education Units: CEU's may be available through your school district or employer. Most districts accept up to 10 hours of credit for this training.
